Software research & development
Engineering intelligent software for a connected future
Baretronics investigates, prototypes and commercialises its own software across artificial intelligence, intelligent automation and the systems that run on them. Our first product, Spendington, is an AI personal finance app live on iOS and Android.
01 — Who we are
We build what we discover.
Baretronics is a software research organisation that carries its own ideas from an open question to shipped software. We do not hand research off to someone else to build — we write the code and own the technology, end to end.
-
Research-driven
Every product begins as a research question, grounded in rigorous investigation before a line of code or a prototype is built.
-
Future-ready
We design for the problems that are arriving, not just the ones already here — systems built to scale and adapt as demand shifts.
-
Human-centred
Technology should serve the person at the other end. We design for understandability and reliability, not novelty for its own sake.
02 — What we work on
Core research areas
-
Software engineering
The centre of what we build: applications, APIs, distributed systems and data platforms, engineered for reliability at scale and taken all the way to production.
-
Artificial intelligence
Machine learning applied to forecasting, natural language, computer vision and decision systems — built into working software, with attention to reliability.
-
Intelligent automation
Software that senses its environment and acts on it, reducing manual intervention and downtime across the systems it runs.
-
Energy systems software
Monitoring, forecasting and control software for distributed generation and storage — the layer that makes energy systems observable and responsive.
We don't hand research off to someone else to build. We build it ourselves, and we take it to market.
03 — How we work
From research to real-world deployment
Our development pipeline carries an idea from open question to a technology that works outside the lab. Each stage has to earn its way into the next.
-
Applied research
Identify problems worth solving and study them properly — surveying the state of the art and modelling the system before committing to build.
-
Prototyping
Findings become working software — the smallest thing that can prove or disprove the idea.
-
Engineering & validation
Prototypes are re-engineered for reliability and scale, then tested against the conditions they will actually meet.
-
Commercialisation
Validated technology becomes a product. We take our own research to market and keep developing it once it is in real use.
04 — What we've built
Research that reached the market
We develop and own our products outright. Spendington, the first, is live on the App Store and Google Play.
Spendington
AI personal finance tracking.
Spendington takes the manual work out of tracking money. Rather than typing transactions into a spreadsheet, people photograph a receipt or say aloud what they spent, and the app extracts the detail, categorises it and files it. It is built for individuals and small businesses who want to understand where their money goes without keeping a ledger by hand.
The product is the commercial output of our own research into applied machine learning: document understanding for receipt extraction, speech and natural language for spoken entry, and classification for categorising transactions reliably enough that a person does not have to check every one.
-
Receipt scanning
Point a camera at any receipt. The model reads each item, amount and date, then categorises the transaction without further input.
-
Voice entry
Say an expense in ordinary language and the app parses the amount, the merchant and the category from the sentence.
-
Spending assistant
Ask questions about your own spending in plain language and get an answer drawn from your transaction history.
-
Category budgets
Set a budget per category and track progress against it in real time, on a light or dark interface.
05 — Who is behind it
The team
-
Samuel Adebare Oyewoade
Founder
Samuel founded Baretronics to carry its own research from an open question through to shipped software, and leads the engineering behind Spendington.
